The Innovative Technologies and Assays in Support of HIV Cure Research program was designed to finance efforts to develop novel semi-automated, medium-throughput assays and the development of new, sensitive and super-resolution imaging techniques. Ideal research includes but is not excluded to:
- Modify current viral outgrowth assays
- Develop indicator cell line assay
- Use advanced detection technologies to quantify latent HIV
- Develop high-throughput molecular assay
- Assays based on detecting specific mRNA species
- Sensitive assays that detect HIV production
- Determination of cellular source or the persistent virus using cellular proteins incorporated into the virion
Typical award amounts of not more than $225,000 for Phase I projects and up to $1,500,000 for Phase II projects with project duration of up to two years. All applicants must meet the following criteria.
