The Jobs for Texas program was designed to increase access to capital for small businesses and enable private entrepreneurs to make market-driven decisions to increase the number of jobs available in the target areas. The program has approximately $46.5 million dollars available for allocation.

Each program provided by the Texas Department of Agriculture is part of the Jobs for Texas program; interested businesses and entrepreneurs should visit the website to identify which program best fit their needs. The program is available for most small businesses that has a proven track record and capacity to attract private investments and create opportunities for the future, including both new and expanding organizations. The program targets small or medium sized organizations with 500 employees or less that are operating in Texas.

Once an application is received it is reviewed by the venture capital firms selected by the TDA. These firms work in conjunction with TDA to evaluate and make a determination of loan approval. The long-term goal of the program is to increase venture capital investment and activity for small and medium sized organizations to ensure Texas is participating in new and rising research, technology, and entrepreneurism opportunities.
