The Rural Energy for American Program Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance Program allows grantees to conduct and promote energy audits and identify renewable energy development opportunities to rural small businesses and agricultural producers. Eligible participants include:
- State and local governments
- Federally-recognized Tribes
- Land Grant Institutions
- Rural Electric Cooperatives
- Public Power Entities
- An Instrumentality of stat, tribal, or local governments
- A Resource Conservation & Development Council
Funds may be used to assist energy audits, technical assistance, or site assessments covering the cost of:
- Salaries
- Travel Expenses
- Office Supplies
- Administrative Expenses
Awarded funds cannot exceed $100,000 and must be limited to one submission per applicant and one applicant per submission. To get started participants must contact the State Rural Development Energy Coordinator.
