Italian Universities Upset Over R&D Funding
Italian Labor Unions and PhD student groups are unhappy with the government’s decision to grant €200 million to the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa (IIT), as they believe it comes at the expense of the country’s universities.
The government has stated that the money was to help with economic development of the country, as well as spark an interest in national research projects. However, native researchers don’t believe this to be the case.
