The Chemical Catalysis grant program provides funds for science and technology and other research and development efforts to understand the role of the chemistry of nitrogen, phosphorous, and water in systems of:
- Food
- Energy
- Water
This program focuses on building a basic understanding of chemistry of catalytic processes at the molecular level through traditional research methods including both theoretical and experimental research. Proposals focusing on the catalytic approaches to efficient chemical transformations that:
- Facilitate
- Direct
- Accelerate
Specific processes the program is interested in includes but is not excluded to:
- Polymerization catalysis
- Single site catalysis
- Biologically-inspired catalysis
- Modeling applications
- Theory applications
- Simulation to catalytic processes applications
- Fundamental studies
– Energy-related catalytic processes
– CO2 conversion
– Electrocatalysis
This program does not finance these engineering aspects of catalysis:
- Scale-up
- Processing
- Transport dynamics
- Long-term stability
- Other aspects determined by the program
All applications must be submitted electronically through the Grants.gov website during target dates and before the deadline. Proposal titles for this program should start with ‘SusChEM.’To successfully submit on the website, applicants must also have a DUNS and NSF ID number and SAM registration.
