The National Wildlife Refuge Friends Group Grant Program was established to help organizations to effectively use natural resources by providing funding community/watershed, and nonprofit groups. Funds may be used for:
- Starting up refuge support groups
- Operational support
– Membership drives
– Tuition for training
– Brochure and newsletter development
– Logo design
– Consultation fees for website development
- Strengthen existing refuge support groups
– Communications strategies for events
– Strategic plans
– Volunteer recruitment planning
– Membership development
– Software
– Building new partnerships
- Conservation education programs
- Outreach programs for private landowners
- Habitat restoration projects
- Other pre-approved projects
Grants range between $1,500 and $10,000 focusing in areas that contain Enbridge’s oil, liquids, and natural gas transportation. Awarded participants also qualify for an extra $50,000 after the initial award.
Eligible participants must submit an application containing data relevant to:

- Monitoring efforts
Applicants are required to attend a webinar prior to filling out the application for review. Awards are typically announced approximately one month after application deadline.
