The RESTORE Act Centers of Excellence Research Grant Program was established in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill; funds were deposited into the Trust Fund and will be allocated to programs, projects, and activities defined by this program. The purpose of the program is to establish Centers of Excellence research on the Gulf Coast. Eligible applicants are excluded to:

  • Alabama

– Coastal and deltaic sustainability

– Wildlife ecosystem research

– Comprehensive observation monitoring and mapping of the Gulf of Mexico

  • Nongovernmental entities
  • Consortia
  • Public institutions of higher education
  • Private institutions of higher education
