The State Participation Program is designed to support regional water, wastewater, and flood control projects in regions that may not have the ability to participate without state assistance. TWDB can provide up to 80% of the cost of the project to be paid back in affordable increments.
Eligible participants include political subdivision of state, project sponsors must:
- Have a project that cannot be easily funded without State participation
- Have a facility to be constructed for optimal regional developed of the project
To apply for State participation funds eligible participants must submit an application before the deadline. Applications include:
- Engineering feasibility report
- Environmental information
- General information
- Fiscal reports
- Legal information
This program allows participants to deferred payments until project completion allowing revenue to be incurred prior to repayment. Participants do not pay additional interest and are able to implement structures that are optimal to the needs of the region. TWDB awards funds based on projects they prioritize.
