Urban Waters Small Grants are available to assist the advancement of EPA’s water quality and environmental justice goals. Projects should follow four program objectives:
- Address water quality issues related to urban runoff pollution
- Provide additional community benefits
- Engage underserved communities
- Foster partnerships
Eligible projects may include:
- Community training
- Workshops
- Discussions
- Green infrastructure plan
- Zoning evaluation
- Job Training
- Monitoring Programs
- Awareness Efforts
- Water Quality Data Collection and Analysis
Funds may be used to address urban runoff pollution using diverse partnerships that will positively affect multiple communities; awards prioritize projects proposed to be implemented in underserved communities. Proposals will only be accepted for eligible geographic areas. Typical awards range between $40,000 and $60,000 in EPA funding; applicants may not request more than $60,000 in their proposals and must contribute a share/match of a minimum of $4,000. Eligible applicants include:
