The Water and Waste Disposal Revolving Loan Funds Program provides revolving loan funds (RLF) to nonprofit organizations for extending and improving water and waste systems in rural areas. Eligible nonprofits must have the authority to operate a RLF and have the ability to comply with state/federal laws and regulations. Funds may be used for:
- Water and wastewater treatment project pre-development
- Improvement projects not part of regular operations
RLFs may be created for utility districts operated by state and local governments and nonprofit organizations. Participants may not borrow more than $100,000 exceeding 10 year terms; the interest rate is determined by the RLF manager. Matching funds is encouraged but may not be required, depending on fund availability.
