Supponor to Bridge AI and Virtual Advertising in New R&D Facility

Supponor Ltd., a leader in virtual advertising in live sports broadcasting, has announced the opening of a new French R&D centre.

Located in the Sophia-Antipolis region, the new facility will support the company’s foray into AI-driven solutions, beginning with a team of 10 AI research professionals. The expansion of the AI R&D team will form a crucial part of Supponor’s growing product organisation. In fact, the company has plans for both short-term and long-term AI research including fields such as computer vision and natural scene rendering.

“This is an exciting moment both for Supponor and for France,” said Ali Mouizina, head of research at Supponor. “We have an unparalleled team of experts in the field of AI/ML-centric computer vision. The research this team conducts in Sophia-Antipolis will support Supponor in scaling up to new challenges and will be central to innovating Supponor’s product capabilities and enhancing our market expansion.”

The region was selected based on their large – and growing – pool of AI talent. The local network of research centres will also open up the potential for collaboration in the field.

Supponor’s software-based technology Supponor AIR is currently deployed in close to 3,000 live sports events.
