New major R&D center in Poland

The global food, confectionery and beverage firm, Mondelez International, has opened its newest research and development (R&D) technical center in Wroclaw, Poland.

This new facility is part of the $65 million investment across nine R&D hubs around the world. The Wroclaw location will support the creation of new products and technologies for many Mondelez brands like Oreo and BelVita.

The new center will include several innovation labs, a pilot plant and a 9500-sq-ft collaborative kitchen. The focus of the center will be to improve speed, efficiency and effectiveness to more quickly address evolving consumer needs. This will be done through research and investment into equipment and capabilities, which will drive innovation to support the company’s growth strategy, margin and quality platforms.

The company’s new R&D center will recruit 250 new scientists, engineers and other specialist, and will therefore also have a focus in the effective recruitment and training of future and current employees from science and technical based disciplines.

Poland is one of the most important markets for the company and embedding one of the largest technical centers in the modern city of Wroclaw clearly signals the importance of Poland and Europe within the global R&D network of Mondelez.
