Cytovia Therapeutics Brings Cancer Treatment R&D to Massachusetts
Cytovia Therapeutics, Inc. has announced the expansion of their R&D labs into Natick, MA. They are hoping the combination of advanced lab space, cost-effective cGMP manufacturing capabilities, and local talent will help to rapidly increase their research. “We’re excited to rapidly expand our R&D team with the best talent in the Boston area.” said Wei Li, Chief Scientific Officer of Cytovia Therapeutics.
Cytovia is a biopharmaceutical company aiming to accelerate patient access to transformational immunotherapies. Their Massachusetts research will focus primarily on their off-the-shelf gene-edited Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) – NK cells. This could accelerate their research into clinical trials by the end of 2021. The Natick Laboratories will comprise four key activities:
- NK cell biology
- Gene-editing
- Antibody and CAR development
- NK cell pilot manufacturing
The new laboratories offer streamlined control over cGMP production by providing a facility designed to meet all scale and regulatory requirements outlined by the FDA, EMA, and global regulatory audits. They can also expect to successfully implement multi-product manufacturing processes which will position the company to produce their therapeutics at large scales.
