IntendiMe Secures €2.3M to Ramp Up Hearing Tech R&D

IntendiMe, an Italian technology startup, has closed a funding round of €2.3 million. The round was led by Vertis Venture 3 Technology Transfer, a venture capital fund focusing on technology transfer, which is managed by Vertis SGR and advised by Venture Factory.

The funding will be used by the company to ramp up R&D activities and push into the market.

IntendiMe was founded by and for the deaf to create technologies that support both the deaf and hard of hearing. Their proprietary technology detects household sounds, monitors them, and notifies the user via auditory vibration sensors which are sent directly to the user’s smartwatch. With this technology, users can be alerted in real time to what is happening around them.

Their product, which will be marketed as “KitMe”, supports communication between sensors, smartwatches, and the IntendiMe apps. It overcomes the limits of traditional sound detection systems and supports users in the bid to feel more independent and safe.
